Hole In One (HIO): rules and payout
Tournament participants have the option to enter the Hole-In-One (HIO) competition. The fee to enter is $1, payable in cash at the Side Games table.
HIO fees are recorded separately from Association general funds and are used only to pay HIO winners. The amount in the HIO account, as of the previous tournament, is prominently posted on the website. Winners are paid by the WCSGA Treasurer by check.
The Hole-In-One (HIO) policy, detailed below, was discussed and approved at a membership meeting. (See Note)
Funds collected at the Side Games table will be deposited in the WCSGA bank account by the Treasurer. The Treasurer will make payout by check.
- Only funds collected for the HIO fund will be paid out. No General Funds will be used.
- The fee per member per tournament will be $1.00.
- Only WCSGA members in good standing can enter the HIO competition. All participants must sign the HIO entry sheet before play starts.
- The HIO payout (prize) per tournament will be 50% of the HIO fund balance until the HIO fund reaches $2,000, at which point the maximum payout per tournament will be $1,000.
- There is no guaranteed payout amount. Multiple HIOs occurring on the same day, in the same tournament, will equally share the HIO payout for that tournament.
Note: As of June 2021, and until further notice, all White and Gold Tee players in a tournament will be eligible to win the HIO prize ($1,000), subject to the limitation described in Item 5.
