Closest to the Pin: rules and payout
Tournament participants who play from the white and gold tees have the option of entering the Closest to the Pin (CTP) side game. The holes in play are the Par 3s. There are 4 par 3s at Watters Creek. The entry fee for the game is $4.
There are two CTP groups, based on handicap, a Low Handicap Group and a High Handicap Group. The cut-off between the Low and High group will be set in advance and will attempt to equalize the number of players in each group.
It is the sole responsibility of the participant to enter his name on the correct Group sign-up sheet. Current handicaps can be checked with the person manning the Side Games table, a WCSGA Officer or as posted on the website. Callaway players must sign up in the Low Handicap Group.
During play, players who think they have the closest shot need to confirm this with their fellow players and enter their name on the correct marker placed on the green for this purpose. The marker is used to mark where the player’s ball came to rest.
If the player makes a hole in one, this should be noted on the marker and the marker placed at the back of the green.
Winners are paid out in cash immediately after the tournament. Any errors or misunderstandings will be addressed by WCSGA Officers to achieve fairness to all players.
- A player entering his name on the wrong sign-up list is disqualified from the CTP competition.
- A player entering his name on the wrong CTP marker at the green is disqualified from the competition for that hole.
